They have such a steady arc when on stainless that there is really no alternative to red tungsten. Definitely goes great with a large 12+ size cup when on stainless, but I cant understate how great red tungsten works. Review: Excellent and the price was very reasonable - it arrived really quick. I used it as soon as it came, and I can tell you for certain that it is a good product. I stuck it in the puddle couple times by mistake and it did not go dull at all. They aren't the best when it comes to dipping the tungsten but they are good enough in that aspect to make me want to keep using them with their great arc control. I recommend 100% ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely contain Thorium and are very slightly radioactive *by D***D on August 22, 2024* I purchased this not for welding, but for calibrating my Radiacode 103 gamma spectrometer. These definitely output gamma rays consistent with the Thorium decay chain, however the signal is very weak. The reason for this is that most is reabsorbed in the tungsten material, so you only get a signal from Thorium that is near the surface of the rods.
