Unfortunately I could not see any holes in the orange bulls eye, but that could just be my marksmanship. I could see very clearly at over 500 yards, which is as far as that particular range extends where my view was blocked by a side of the hill. I bought some bird splatter targets and you can clearly see what's you're hitting and long distances. My only complaint is the front monocle cover. Do not overtighten the cover. If you do, and you try to unscrew the cover, you will end up unscrewing the entire front monocle. I upgraded from binoculars, to a table top spotter 20-60x60 and now this large tripod mounted 30-90x90. I absolutely love this larger spotter. I have enjoyed getting up close visuals of my nesting birds and have even spotted foxes and deer from a distance. This is not good for following running animals, at least not for me, however to sit and watch birds in and out of nests or on the water it is great. Good clarity on the lenses, travel bag was included. One nice feature is that it is waterproof so you can set up on a misty day or even stay out in slight rainy weather and not have to worry about water damage. Would highly recommend for an avid backyard birder.
