Before we got this, we were seriously considering getting rid of our seven month old Brittany Spaniel.With the noise setting used in conjunction with a short application of current, you can quickly get your dog's attention and ours immediately equated the two actions as one. All I have to do now is hit the noise setting, and she obeys the command. This morning she was acting up and all I did was pick up the controller and upon seeing it was in my hand she settled down. I was afraid to use it on myself but my husband tested it on himself before putting it on our puppy to make sure it wasn't going to actually hurt him. The tones definitely got his attention and would distract him from the undesired behaviors which in our case was digging holes and biting. He never yelped in pain or made any type of action to try to alert us that he was hurting.
