About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Crickets are deliciousHow did you come up with the idea for this product?In college, Laura was studying abroad in Tanzania and encountered a street vendor selling fried caterpillars. As a vegetarian, Laura was conflicted, but thinking she would never have a chance to eat a caterpillar again, she closed her eyes and plopped one in her mouth. Her first reaction? Love at first bite! This idea of eating insects intrigued her as a vegetarian, and she realized that all the reasons she was vegetarian (i.e. factory farming, greenhouse gas emissions, resource waste, etc.) did not apply to insects. She found the protein source she has been looking for her whole life!What makes your product special?We are the first-ever cricket chip in the WORLD! Plus, Chirps are one of the healthiest chips on the market AND taste great (It took us over a year to formulate our recipe).What has been the best part of your startup experience?We started out as three friends in college who wanted to fix a problem with food sustainability.
