I carried the original Outdoorsman hunting for almost 30 years, that is until the sheath wore out. I still have it with a few scratches and will never let it go. The new Outdoorsman really looks like a keeper. **Q: As of sept. 2021, what is the steel of the outdoorsman lite? i see it listed in the descrpition as 4116 and 4034, with another saying it's 4025.** A: I believe Cold Steel sez the Outdoorsman Lite is 4116. Please note - The Outdoorsman ( VG-1 Steel $ 120 ) and the Ourdoorsman Lite ( 4116 $ 40 ) are different knives - Same design, but different steel. **Q: Has anyone experienced blade chipping on the newer Taiwanese San Mai version?** A: No not yet what was you cutting and if nothing contact cold steel and try to get a replacement blade. I have never had one chip and I have several **Q: Would this be legally considered as a bowie knife? Thanks.** A: I would consider it a hunting knife as opposed to a Bowie which I have a number of. I would buy it again but a don't expect it wear out in my lifetime.
