## Description

This A3-sized Art Poster features a detailed illustration of Rory Gallagher's 1961 Fender Stratocaster, from George Morgan. Produced on 250 g/m2 silk art paper this Art Poster is suitable for framing with or without a mount and will be supplied in a protective cellophane bag inside a sturdy cardboard postal tube. Playing a variety of instruments throughout his career, Rory is most related to this 1961 Tobacco Sunburst, using it on nearly all live performances and studio recordings it can be seen on the cover of a number of his albums. Rory bought this guitar in 1963 after a showband member ordered a red Stratocaster from Fender, but this sunburst was delivered instead. The customer decided to wait for his red one leaving Rory to purchase the one he turned down. It’s also said to have been the first Stratocaster brought into Ireland. Over the years Rory changed pickups, tuners, pickguard, wiring and installed a 5-way selector switch. Almost all of the original finish is gone, caused by heavy road use. Forming Taste in 1966, Rory performed his blend of folk and blues-rock mostly in the UK with a residency at the Marquee Club, also supporting Cream at their Royal Albert Hall farewell concert and Blind Faith on their US tour.
