Being well versed in repairing these type amplifiers I took a chance, unit arrived in original shipping carton of which originated in China, no efforts were made to use a new box however unit arrived with only minor blemishes which for me are no big deal. Arrival was prompt. Upon initial use of amplifier the left channel had no output, so much for being thoroughly checked by the seller which I was suspicious of from the get go, after some quick trouble shooting the problem was no doubt internal. Didn’t want the hassle of returning as the price was a little over half of a new unit coming from China. Again I’m well versed in repairing tube amplifiers so I decided to repair, the unit was obviously taken apart somewhere along the way as the bottom cover seal was broken, so in I went. Problem was of poor workmanship at the crimped terminals on at least three molex connectors, to add to the trouble the geniuses globbed flowable silicone over the mating pieces making a simple repair a PITA, to remedy this I simply hardwired the problematic connectors. After about two hours of work the unit was working with out issue. I have ran this amp for a good number hours now without further issue. So overall if your going to buy something of this nature be cautious, in this instance I was fortunate but for someone without knowledge it would have been not such a good thing. Overall this amp has quality components, sounds good, and can run all day without overheating, only issue being the workmanship. Another key point, If you want to run JJ 300B or taller tubes the protective cover will not fit, you will need to add some spacers to the socket plate standoffs to give you about a 1/4” drop.
