A few I have out and they always are weighted to stand alone for display. This appears to be able to do so. I do have old vintage 50's, 60's & 70's Breyers set out and they are all weighted just right to stand alone! I only had trouble with a new one that was a Tennessee Walker. Breyer does a wonderful job with these beautiful hand painted items! **Q: does it come in a box** A: If you buy brand new, all Breyers come in a nice display box, so if you wish them to remain in mint condition you can just leave them unopened. **Q: Does the tack come off?** A: On the collectables I do not take off.
