Can it be done by someone fairly handy but by no means a pro?** A: If you plan on installing it in a β€œLoad-Bearing” wall Hire a General Contractor or Licensed Carpenter or you could seriously breach the structural integrity of the structure. They work excellent heating and cooling is beautiful. The a/c units worked well (though the remote controls were useless). Fast forward to May 2024, and one of the units would not blow cold anymore. We tried a number of trouble shooting suggestions, but nothing got it working again. So close to the 2-year warranty expiration, I figured contacting the manufacturer would be futile but did so anyway, despite my skepticism. After entering the info on the online customer support and describing the problem, I was surprised to get an email back saying they would immediately ship an new unit and pay to have the old unit returned to them. The new unit came two days after submitting the ticket. Other than the cost of another installation (which was less than the cost of what I figured repairing the unit would be), it was a quick and seamless process. Our old unit crapped out on June 21st (one of the hottest days of the year in the Mojave Desert!) Amazon sent us this one in 26 hours, I love you guys! I only chose 2 day shipping, so that was an amazing benefit!!! I was able to install the unit by myself in 108 degree interior temps... the packing was great, literally only 4 things I had to do.Install took 12 minutes (I timed it) although I did come back to it that night to reinforce it since it was vibrating fairly loudly.The unit itself is LOUD I mean... it's really loud. My old unit was from the early 90s, but this one makes it run for its money noise-wise. That's the ONLY gripe with it, the remote is awesome, it gets a room cold quick (even though it's still in Summer and hot as balls here) All in all, I am very satisfied with this unit, the power saver setting seems glitched though since it uses more power than just leaving the unit on.
