RevJams DISCOTEK Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with Dynamic LED Lights and HD Sound [NOW SHIPPING UPDATED 2016 VERSION]

I've been able to do a side by side comparison with the JBL Pulse (because my brother-in-law owns it) and the RevJams does only have about 1/3 the number of LEDS that the Pulse has, BUT... It sounds just as good IMO (neither has great lows) but they both do a good job of filling up a good size room. I really have to give the edge to the RevJams based mainly on price (on sale it's 1/5 the cost of the JBL Pulse) The lights are a fun novelty to show off and you'd have a hard time telling the JBL has 2/3's more.I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that just like an earlier reviewer my first unit was defective, it would not charge no matter how long I left it plugged in. Fast customer service from Amazon Prime and I had another one next day air mail at no charge and it worked fine.

probably like most of you checking out this speaker. i bought this speaker bcuz i wanted the same or similar effects as the more expensive brand. without paying the arm and a leg price. i have to say that for the price, this speaker was a little better than i expected. it has multiple light modes that actually move with the music which is a big plus. it was great to bring this to a camp site and backyard hangouts with friends. the light show is considerably bright ecspecially in dark rooms.. the sound output was good but the bass output was a little less than expected but the overall sound did not fall short. its loud and lets you know that its there... and if you want to listen to music and not see the light show. there is a switch for that. so overall this was a great buy.

***UPDATE***STOPPED WORKING!After using only 4 or 5 times, pairing no longer functions, as well as auxiliary cord when connected. Others on the Q&A forums - when I asked if anyone has a fix for these things- agreed that it stopped working, and it's a piece of junk! I learned, once again - that all that glitters is not gold...(This was my 1st review, in 2016)I like this speaker! Amazon would probably not refund me because it's been over a year since I purchased this...It's taking a while to learn how to pair/how to get the lights to dance with the music...

If you really want one of these, just save up more money to get the JBL version. This thing works but it's not as nice as the JBL. I got this after seeing the JBL at target and I didn't know the difference. The lights on this thing don't go all the way around. The first time I dropped it it broke apart. It's a ok little speaker, don't get me wrong, but don't expect a whole lot from it.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it. It seems to be just as fun as nice as the JBL Pulse (I haven't compared them side by side however). I can't judge the sound quality because my boyfriend likes to play music softly but the music patterns don't seem to be dependent on how loud the volume is. You can select different color patterns - even when there is no music playing. It did take a little bit of time to pair with my iPad but it paid with his Android phone immediately. I highly recommend this is you don't want to spend a ton of money on the JBL Pulse.

As others have said, it would not hold a charge and would only work when plugged in. Also, it was temperamental when it came to pairing the speaker with the other device - much more often than not, the speaker wouldn't stay in pairing mode long enough for the other device to discover it. Plus, the instructions were inaccurate when it came to how to engage pairing mode; you have to rapidly double-press the power button (like double-clicking a mouse).On the rare occasions when I did get it to work, the sound lacked richness. It didn't sound much better than my laptop, to be honest (louder, though, naturally). At that price point I didn't expect anything too high-fidelity, but even so, I was disappointed.On the plus side, the lights were fun, I guess. Yay?I returned it and will be in the market for a different Bluetooth speaker.

My 8 year old purchased this with a Amazon gift card he received for his birthday. He read reviews and came up with this based on price and feedback from others. It was delivered right on time, after one lesson on how to connect the Bluetooth to his phone he uses it daily, volume level is perfect, not to loud, he loves it, its very durable, and not heavy to carry around. Great buy!
