I bought many pairs in a row of these headphones because I really liked the sound quality and compared to a lot of headphones the material was high quality as well. I thought I was having bad luck, and spilled water on one pair, but I think these just fray easily. With one pair I suddenly lost sound in one of the earbuds. I've recently made the switch to bluetooth headphones so I don't have to worry about cords, thank goodness. Overall I would say that, paradoxically, their high quality makes them more susceptible to fraying and breaking. They're probably more sensitive to wear and tear than a simpler pair of headphones.
