Silhouette Art : War Memorial Tommy Soldier Figure ~ Free standing

You see this particular image everywhere around Remembrance Day and I have always found it very evocative and moving. So I ordered this figure to put in front of my books on the First World War. I was not disappointed. It arrived very quickly, was well wrapped up (perhaps a little too well as with my arthritic hands it was hard to open!), and I was pleased with the size. I would have preferred it to be made in metal, as some reviewers have already said, but I would recommend it to any others who have an interest in the war either to use as a display piece or as an ornament near to books, as I have, or next to a loved ones photograph. We owe so much to the generation who fought for our freedom in both World Wars and we should cherish that freedom.

Lovely item - used in a floral display for Remembrance Sunday. I find the soldier-silhouette quite moving and was a fitting centrepiece to the display. Only downside is that it is wooden rather than metal but that may be reflected in the price. Very good.

A simple silhouette that fits nicely on a window sill for November 11. I was surprised at how slim and light the item was but the stand is very effective. I've purchased a poppy scarf as a backdrop ready for the window display.Delivery and packaging were excellent

Bought to commemorate the loss of my great grandfather in WWI and is proudly on display on a windowsill where it will remain until after Remembrance Day. I love it.
