My feeling is that both the photograph and description should be updated to show that the cane shaft is only slightly tapered, measuring .875 diameter at the top and then down to .75 at the tip. The rubber end cap at the bottom of the cane looks like it should be used on a walking stick from a medical device catalog. The rubber cap really detracts from this cane's appearance, and what could be a very elegant piece. The head-piece is very nice, made of polished steel, but hollow inside - still quite heavy though. The wood used for the shaft blank is probably made from poplar or beech and is not very hard nor heavy. The wood also was not concentric and had run-out - not true to center or precisely machined. Since I used this cane for a Great Gatsby party, I had to fashion a new cane section and bore out the center and install new hardware. The threaded rod that the head piece attaches to is 5/16" - 18 and is glued inside the cane section. I used a new threaded rod, along with a brass hurricane nut (threaded insert) to attach the head-piece to the new cane section I made. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2017* My buddy had cancer and the surgery and muscle loss due to this cancer left him unable to walk comfortably without a cane. He has a GREAT medical device that works for him on a day-to-day basis, but he kept on saying he wanted something "fancy". So, for his birthday, I bought him this great cane. He loves it. He used to drive a Jaguar car and I think the emblem reminds him of that. It really is as nice as the picture depicts it to be and it is able to bear his weight (my guess is probably just a little over 200 lbs.)
