Review: Solid piece of equiupment - Ordered and received the Master Elite Pro-44 UT kit. I've had it a while but so far only used it one time for a smaller-ish job, which it seemed to work great. So this review will have to be updated as I use it more. My main gun Ive been using for years is a DeVilbiss FLG that has served me well on a lot of paint jobs. The build quality of this spray gun looks great throughout. I didn't see any flaws or issues at all. Nice machining. Nice finish. It seems to be a great piece of equipment. I bought the UT kit, which stands for "Ultimate". That kit includes 4 separate caps, 4 needles and 4 fluid tips each nicely packaged in their own boxes for the following sizes: 1.3mm, 1.4, 1.5 & 1.8. So, if you were only going to buy one spray gun and have it for a long time to spray whatever you needed, this UT kit with all the needles should cover just about every type of automotive or industrial paint contingency. Really all a guy probably really needs is a 1.3mm a 1.8mm (for 2k primers)...and either a 1.4 or 1.5mm for single-stage paints. And maybe all a guy needs is a 1.3mm version of this spray gun and use a cheap 1.8 gun for primer. The kit also includes other items you'll want to hold onto to maintain the spray gun. Comes in a nice box. Note: I double-checked the diameters of the fluid tips with machinists bits and they all seem to be drilled just as labled. (not all spray guns are). Interestingly, the air-caps per my measurements seem to be all identical, other than being labeled for whatever size fluid tip. All the holes in the caps are the same size, locations and angles--as far as I can determine. That's nice to know in case one went missing. The aluminum cup...IDK. It looks good. I'm used to plastic cups. The metal DOES clean up real nice, easier than a plastic cup. It holds a lot of paint, handy if you're doing an overall on a pickup truck, for example. It might get in the way too...of doing corners or spraying in odd pockets. I might have to make a little ferrule adapter for inside the cup at the bottom, so I can adapt the DeVilbiss disposable bag system (zip-loc bags) inside the cup. That's a really neat system. One thing I really like about the older DeVilbiss guns (the bag system). The reason I only used the spray gun once is I happened to get a $99 deal on the H/F Black Widow while I was at the store, and I've been using that to get the feel of it. For $99, I couldn't pass it up. I've been meaning to do a comparison between the two but haven't had the time. That spray gun sprays excellent. So does the Pro-44. I can't say which sprays better yet. The B/W 1.3 fluid tip is actually 1.37mm. Even though it's HTE, there seems to be a ton of overspray and the B/W seems to suck the paint. It sprays nice but sure doesn't seem very efficient. The Pro-44 is HVLP and seemed pretty normal to HVLP in paint consumption with the job I did -- sprayed a roof, with Nason 497 clear. Nice wide spray pattern. It turned out great. But then again, my old DeVilbiss sprayed pretty well too. But the Pro-44 is newer and has a wider fan spray. I DO happen to have a TE-20 cap which I haven't tried. It does screw on (somewhat TIGHT!) ...but the Pro-44 fluid tip OD is LARGER than the OD of the DeVilbiss fluid nozzle. Just want to throw that out there because it wasn't discussed in other reviews I read. Soooo... that means the air gap around the fluid tip using a TE-20 cap is very small...and I would expect it to spray more like a 'conventional' spray gun than an HVLP spray gun (my hunch is). I mean, it would have to ..by design. Although I haven't sprayed paint with it yet so we'll see. And lastly, a DeVilbiss Pro-lite 1.3mm fluid tip literally won't screw onto the Pro-44. That would be nice if it did. Thread size and depth are different. The fluid tips are similar but substantially different. I would say the Pro-44 feels slightly better in the hand than the Black Widow. Factors like that can matter when you're reaching way over to spray a 4x4 truck hood or a roof. But overall, yeah, it's a great spray gun, fantastically 'complete' kit (the Ultimate kit), and seems to spray out nice. I'll update more as I spray more.
Review: Great gun, but it can be awesome! - This is a really great gun and you can make it out of this world by buying the Devilbiss TE20 cap as Troy suggested (see his review) . It's pricey for the cap but you're still only halfway price wise total as compared to other brands. The TE20 cap fits perfectly and wow is all I can say. The gun itself is assembled well and you can tell it's more of a precision piece of equipment when you pull the trigger (it's super smooth) . The weight is nice and has a more balanced feel to it. This gun can spray like a $700.00 + unit with an air cap upgrade. I don't use the regulators that come with any spray guns as they're usually an after thought and don't work right anyway..... pressure creep and volume drop can destroy a paint job!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is the gun compatible with a turbine air system?**
A: I'm not sure what a turbine air system is, but I think these paint guns are meant to run off of compressed air from an air compressor. The pressure can be regulated on the paint gun as it comes with a regulator. Hope this helps, and it is a very nice paint gun, works well and comes with the needles and caps that can be changed according to what you are painting.

**Q: Is the cup adaptor compatible with the Spectrum system from Harbor Freight?**
A: Yes. It works. The in cup filter also will work with either. I have the Master 44 and Spectrum Black Widow. I use the Master Pro for my clear and the Widow for my paint. The Pro does a better job in my opinion laying down the clear. Both guns are easy to use and in my opinion, dollar for dollar one of the best guns for your buck. You could use the pro for your paint as well. But it comes down to preference. Good luck!

**Q: Is this a bleed or non-bleed gun?**
A: It's a non-bleeder.

**Q: I'm in the process of making a purchase but i'm having a hard time deciding if i should get this or the devilbiss finishline 4 flg-670. advise plz?**
A: I only have the Pro 44 with the 1.8 head. It worked fine for primer, base and clear. Don't have enough experience to compare. Hope you find some who does.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great gun, but it can be awesome!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great sprayer, especially with simple upgrades
*by B***2 on June 27, 2024*

I used this sprayer for a few years, then got the Devilbiss TE20 cap as recommended by a couple other reviewers. I also picked up a nice air flow regulator. The regulator that comes with the gun isn’t great and the dial fogs up. The gun works like a dream after these two simple upgrades. I highly recommend this gun. Works pretty well without the upgrades, but it’s fantastic with them, and at a very reasonable price point.
