It's a foam that you allowed to dry and then wipe away **Q: Will it remove molds on my helmet?** A: If the molding is on the liner parts I would remove them and soak them in mild detergent. The Helmet Care product is good for removing light stains and oils from your hair but it’s not a strong cleaner that would remove stains and mold. I actually don’t use this product too often anymore because it’s easier for me to remove all the fabric linings and soak them in a mild fabric cleaner. This product is good for a quick cleaning but that’s about it. **Q: Just thought I'd ask this question, can I use this on a matte black finish?** A: This product is actually used to clean the inside of the helmet. You can spray all the inner lining/padding without having to remove all those parts. You just spray it on those inner parts, let it stay on there a few minutes, and then wipe the parts with a clean cloth. It’s not made to clear the outside of the helmet. There are helmet cleaning products specifically with a matte finish. This is not for that though. I have a matte finish helmet and use a different type of cleaner for the exterior of the helmet. **Q: does this clean the interior of helmets or only deodorize them?** A: Yes. This is in fact only for interior.
