These are based on the 2004 series in which the soon-to-be decommissioned Battlestar Galactica uses the old Vipers from the first Cylon War to fight back. These are a reimagined version of the 1978 series. The model has Capt. Kara Thrace "Starbuck" written near the cockpit (clearly not the Dirk Benedict version) **Q: Is the stand suppose to be curved?** A: Top of stand is curved **Q: How big is this model?** A: About 10 inches long. **Q: How does this compare to the pre-built Mobius models released about six or seven years ago** A: It's already pre-painted and pre-built. It's also made out of diecast and plastic. Great ship far superior to a regular plastic model because you don't have all the hassles. And to top it all off it's only a few dollars more. Heavier and sturdier than a moebius model. Love mine, have it and the Galactica underneath the 10 gallon aquarium. The Mk1 is hard to come by now so when this mk2 eas available I had no hesitation. So happy that it's at a low cost too. It came well packaged and protected.
