A smaller size would have been much too tight.The costume looked amazing and was a huge hit at a party I attended while wearing it. I was a little concerned about the quality of the zipper after reading some of the Amazon reviews but I was very impressed with the durability of the zipper and the overall durability of the costume. I wore two pairs of boxer briefs to hide my business but it was still pretty visible, although in my opinion this is not really a problem. This is a bodysuit after all. I wore the hood down for the duration of the party, I noticed the hood only felt tight around my neck when I was sitting down, and even then it wasn't bad.
