Each switch comes with a tabbed washer see picture that you can place to configure the switch as a 4P2T, 4P3T, or 4P4T switch. The switch body is plastic (four stars instead of five stars for sturdiness) though I do not think this will be a problem for light use. The connections are pins which are great for wire wrap and very easy soldering.My only suggestion is consider using a larger diameter knob, or a knob with a skirt. The switch body includes a post that you are supposed to use to lock the switch to chassis (by drilling a matching hole in the chassis) to prevent the switch from rotating. However, the included knob does not cover the hole in the chassis for this post. If you connect all 4 poles together, it can be used as a normal 12 position switch.
