A human will trigger it, a cat will most probably not.When it's on, the light is surprisingly bright. Almost too much for my use-case. I had to cover a few of the leds so it would be a bit more discreet.Looks durable, the charge lasts more than I can count (get's 2-3 hours of direct sunlight and I haven't seen it run out of juice yet), and seems to hold well against the weather.As you see in the photos, the leds are covered with a bright yellow plastic protector. I'd honestly would have preferred for it to be white or even black... stands out a bit on my set up. Quite satisfied with my purchase, though. I've mounted it (single screw) about 6-7 feet above ground level and the light triggers when I get within 15-20 feet. It's bright enough to see what I'm doing but not so bright that I'm dazzled!
