Review: A really nice set that is entirely playable. - I learned Shogi while in high school and haven't played in 50 years. What a surprise to learn my 17 year old grandson apparently learned on the internet! We still haven't completed a game since when we start at family gatherings we get interrupted-- but if you like chess and don't know this game I recommend you learn. It's the kind of game you could play every day. Not some weird variation of chess but a great game in its own right. This set is solid and you'll never need to buy another one.
Review: Great Purchase! - The board is excellent quality and looks really nice, enough so that I can leave it on the coffee table as a centerpiece. The pieces are light and moveable. The kanji on one of them isn't perfect so it's kind of hard to read but that's mostly because I can't read kanji! Packaging was great! It was double boxed with bubble wrap inside the first box and styrofoam protecting the table inside the second. (It actually got dropped and there's no damage at all) Definitely worth purchasing for anybody looking to get into Shogi.
