Even though I have been making photographs for many years, and do read the official manual, I buy a book of this type for every new body. I would also say that I'm very familiar with Fujifilm cameras and lenses. These types of books: 1) Fill in gaps that are inherent in official manuals. 2) give you tips from experts of the equipment as to Why to use this or that setting with another. This book is Excellent and I waited until Rico's version was available, because he is so knowledgeable. I loved my X100T and had an excellent RockyNook book on it. That said each body deserves its own tips and tricks book. This one will not Disappoint. As an aside, as much as I love a hardcover or paperback, I now try to get them in a format that Kindle can handle, even if its only PDF. I've found that having the ability to pull out my laptop / tablet / phone and review something has been very helpful. Highly Recommended!
