I have them on my 12x10" rack and 14x12 floor. Reso are a king ambassador that is see through.Tuning is everything. They are a P5 apart (low tom D) That old PDP m5 Sing Sing Sings and instigates a Zuit Suit Riot then flips a switch over to happily Take 5 and pay homage to a Led filled Zepplin.Don't overplayed these heads. They won't last. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Durable, cool-looking and great sound *by A***A on January 29, 2013* If you are a working drummer who plays rock or similar styles, this may be the drum head for you. Gigging drummers always have to walk the line between great sounding heads and heads that will last long enough to keep you from going broke. The Onyx heads are a nice compromise for drummers like us.Pros:They last a looooong time before needing to be replaced, even for heavy-hitters.They look cool.As a tom pack, they are priced well. Cheaper than competitors.While I wouldn't necessarily record with them, they sound very good in a live setting.Cons:Resonance is sacrificed a bit, due to the 2-ply construction. But if you're buying a 2-ply drum head, then you already know this.Sensitivity isn't a strong suit. I wouldn't play these in a jazz setting. Gotta hit 'em to make 'em ring.All in all, a very good live drum head for working drummers. If you're gigging on a regular basis, save your money and play a good sounding head that lasts. I promise you that the drunk people at the bar can't tell the difference between these and Remo Ambassadors that will last you one show.
