My house is dusty - always. I’d been using two sets of filters; one with lesser filter value at the air return intake and a high filter value at the air exchanger. That didn’t make the AC guy happy. When he finally explained that I was making my system work harder as it had to suck harder and would ultimately reduce the life of the system I started looking for something that would make us both happy. This seems to do the trick. I did violate the rules on initial installation. I removed the old fabric filter and put in the aireman filter while the blower was running. The difference in the airflow was amazing. I have no tools to measure the difference but by sound alone it was obvious that the blower was not working nearly as hard. I always changed the old style filters at least once a month, each time requiring 3 filters. These filters are actually going to save money even if I change them every six weeks, not to mention the potential savings of HVAC repair.
