I fill my pill tray once a week and the hinges seem to be holding well (not wearing down or at risk of breaking off despite being opened so often). And while all that makes me sound ancient and I am old but not to the point I have issues with arthritis or joint pain but if you are someone who has those issues I could see this being an issue as it is so small and compact so the spots are close together. I usually pop open with my thumbs. I am not sure if you get the clear one (I feel like it said colors vary) but I got the clear one.
