The tool is made very well indeed, and it solid and beautiful. It carves incredibly well, and the handle seems strong, and holds up to blows with a wood mallet. The handle was slightly coarsely finished, but a light sanding with fine grit paper had feeling perfect in the hands in just a couple of minutes.I will be buying more Pfeil gouges. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is an amazing tool! *by M***O on March 2, 2020* I recently started carving spoons and ladles. I purchased a less expensive gouge from another manufacturer that does work well but doesn't hold an edge well. I was carving with my uncle recently and he had a set of these gouges and after working with them, I had to have one. My old gouge arrived with some burrs on the edge (I was able to remove them) and has a less elegant feel and weight. This tool arrived very sharp and cuts like a dream.
