Once your past the first part then you can activate all save functions. Visually the game is impressive for its age. You can see where Stellar Blade got its idea from. In fact Nier could have been what Stellar Blade is if they decided to make a new game which is too bad but at least some of the content is available to Stellar Blade as an addon.
