The ink in those does not dry very quickly, though, hence my need for a blotter.I don't mind blotting with a paper towel, if necessary, in the kitchen, but I wanted something nicer here at my desk. Since I rarely write more than a name or something short, this size blotter is more than adequate & will last me for years. Even so, I watched the video in the listing to see how to replace the blotting paper which I saw requires little more than unscrewing the handle.
