It contains a clear picture and instructions for more than 350 crochet stitch patterns, grouped by the techniques used to make them. Each one is named, which can be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on how you look at it. Having a name makes a particular pattern easier to find later. But then two different crocheters may call the same pattern by two different names and that can cause confusion. There are no charts in this book and I wish there were. But the photographed swatch and the clear instructions help make up for that. Several two color stitch patterns are included as well. The book uses a simple layout and photographs of the various patterns in several different smooth yarns to provide color. This is not your cheap stitchionary that just repeats the basic combinations that are included in any beginners techniques book. I think this will become a treasured, yet affordable, addition to my crochet reference collection. Now if only I could find a stitch dictionary that includes the rose and tulip clusters, my collection would be complete (wishful thinking / joking).
