## Description

Remember when you could run your generator off either gas or propane? Whether we're providing your home electricity during a crisis or charging your family's cellphones at the campgrounds, WEN has been reliably lighting up lives since 1951. Now, with the WEN 11,000-Watt Dual Fuel Electric Start Generator, you’ll be able to create power from two different sources. Simply select your preferred method, either gasoline or LPG, and power on the generator using the electric start. Propane provides the generator with 9,500 surge and 7,500 running watts while gasoline creates up to 11,000 surge and 8,300 running watts. Our packed panel features four 120V GFCI outlets (5-20R), a 120V 30A twist lock outlet (L5-30R), a 120V/240V 50A outlet (NEMA 14-50R), and a 12V DC cigarette-lighter-style plug. Run your lights, TV, refrigerator, sump pump, power tools, or other essentials with ease. The wheel and handle kit makes transportation easier than ever while the included 47-inch LPG hose allows for immediate connection to propane tanks. With its 240 volts of power and 457cc engine, this generator is the perfect companion for emergency back-up. Simply plug your transfer switch into the NEMA 30A twist lock for electricity in times of need. Fill the gas tank with up to 6.6 gallons of gasoline for an 8.5-hour half-load runtime. It’s durable enough for the job site and compact enough for easy storage. And because its a WEN product, your generator comes backed by a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, a friendly customer support phone line, and a two year warranty. Remember when you didn’t have to worry about the power going out? Remember WEN.

Review: Great Performance and Fantastic Value - I just finished putting the generator up after using it the last 36 hours after Hurricane Zeta knocked power out to our house. What a great purchase! I flipped off the main breaker and back-fed the house via the 240V Dryer plug. This thing is a workhorse. We have a two story house on a basement with 2 HVAC units plus a mini-split AC in the basement. I left the upstairs HVAC breaker off, but powered two refrigerators, the main and mini-split HVAC, all the lights, internet gear, laptops and TVs in the house, plus the occasional kitchen appliance. With that load I burned about 6 gallons (nearly full tank) in 8 hours. I filled it back up while it was running, and it didn't seem to be getting hot, so ran it about 13 straight hours the first day. The next day it started right up and ran it for 5 hours until street power was restored. IMPORTANT: Make sure if you backfeed your panelboard that you DISCONNECT your street power and then disconnect your generator before reconnecting street power. An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) will do this for you, and may be required by code to feed your panelboard. You'll also want to crank the generator up once a month for 30 minutes or so to prevent the carb from getting varnished, and to keep the battery charged. I let it sit 4 months and had to jump it off my truck as the hand starter is brutal. Pros + Great value for money + Dual fuel + Reasonably Efficient + Built in Volt, Frequency, and Time Meter + Key-start (when the battery isn't dead) Cons - No Amp or Watt Meter built in - Hard to Manually Start - Battery was dead - PRO Tip: Use jumper cables to your car to get it started - A Little Loud (maybe the same as other generators the same size, but louder than typical smaller tailgate type generators) - Waveform a little dirty - my APC UPS would not charge off of it even though it should the voltage and frequency were well within range.
Review: Had initial startup issue, but runs like a champ ever since! - Delivery was great, used a box truck with a lift instead of the normal delivery vans. Assembly was easy, other than this is a 200+LBS unit. (Some people may require assistance with installation of the wheels, as you have to lift up the generator and set on a piece of wood or similar to install put them on). You also have to install the 2 handles for moving the generator around. As well as remove 2 "shipping brackets" as described in the instructions included. Battery was full charged and ready to go, everything was included, nothing was damaged. (all issues i had read from other reviews). After spending maybe an ~30-40 mins assembling it, i was ready to start it up. This is where i ran into the one and only issue. The generator would crank, but not start. I looked at the instructions that came with it, and went to the "troubleshooting" page. In the section that relates to my crank no start issue, it states to remove the bowl of the carburetor and allow to sit open for a few minutes and reassemble as the carb may be air/vapor locked. Sure enough after i put it back together, turned the fuel on again, put it on choke, it fired up within seconds. I ran it straight for about an hour with no issues, but also without a load. Turned off the fuel and allowed generator to use the remaining gas left in the carburetor, disconnected the negative and put away for about a month an a half. One day i wanted to see if it would start right up as it had after i figured out the no start issue. I pulled the generator back out and reconnected the battery. Turned on the fuel, choke and turned on the ignition. It fires right up in seconds. I then let it run for 5 minutes to let it warm up and recharge the battery (even though the battery didnt seem to loose any charge). I grabbed a couple extension cords and connected to my refrigerator, 3 electric/ceramic heaters, a tv, and a vacuum. All things convenient and easy to use, to do my quick load test. First i connected just the refrigerator, it is an older one. it runs 7.5 amps/900watts. I plug it in and i hear no change from the generator, as you normally hear when you put a load on it. I had to go inside to check if the refrigerator was actually on, because this thing didnt even hesitate. I then added the rest of the items i mentioned above and this thing ran strong the entire time. For $800 you cant beat the amount of power that this unit puts out. I havent actually used it yet in a power outage situation, but i am confident that this thing will run everything i need during an outage, including my central air.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it run on pump gas. Here in CA all gas has ethanol**
A: Texas has Non-Ethanol gas. That's what I run mine on. It will run on gas with Ethanol in it but the gas itself will plug up the carb if it sits too long. Close the fuel valve and let it run out of gas. Put treatment in the tank to keep the fuel from becoming useless.

**Q: Does it have a back up recoil start if you have a dead battery**
A: You can pull start it on either fuel if the battery is dead.

**Q: Does this unit have an low oil indicator and will it shut itself off if the oil is low?**
A: It does not have a low oil indicator, but it has a low oil shut off. You should check the oil level every time you start it up.

**Q: Will the winds 11000 unit run my electric water heater and house**
A: This unit should run your water heater. Most electric water heaters are 4500 watts or less .You will not be able to use everything at once . You should be able to use most of your electric devices. Just not all at the same time . The best way to use a generator this size is to have a 50 amp generator plug installed. You will also need a 2 pole 50 amp breaker installed in your electric panel. The plug is to be connected to the new breaker. An interlocking device will need to be installed on the panel cover. This will only allow power supply from the generator or the power company . This shouldn't be very expensive to have installed. This should be done by a licensed electrician.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ She’s a beast I use mine for mobile welding occasionally
*by B***T on February 13, 2026*

Easy to move and operate weight isn’t that bad I picked it up and put her on my tail gate pretty easily now don’t get me wrong I do weigh about 275 so for some I could see why she heavy but assembly was straight forward she has plenty of power to run my ole tombstone Lincoln welder and noise isn’t a problem for me seen as though I’m mostly in the bush with mine . Battery is fine and I definitely recommend
