My waist is 34-36 and extra large was for more a 46+ waist, otherwise, it fit me fine. So I next ordered the Large and it was fine in the waist, BUT too short. I am 6' 1" and the XL was too short for me. So I now ordered the XL LONG. I am thinking that is going to be perfect for me. It takes longer than most Amazon items to get to me, for whatever reason(s). I think it is going to be worth the wait though. The vests I sent back looked very good except for the fits. However, I think I got it right this time though. I am 6' 1" and 192 lbs. A Large-Long is going to be perfect, I expect. Jeez, I might be a few pounds overweight, but I don't have this button problem with my knit sweaters!So when I saw this very reasonably priced all-suede vest with SNAP BUTTONS, I figured the latter should solve my button problem once and for all.The large-size vest fits me perfectly (I'm a 42 short), and it looks great. There are two outside front pockets and one inside pocket on the left side as you're wearing it.The leather is a little lighter in weight than my previous vest, but that's okay -- it's supple and brings some warmth without bulk.I have deducted one star, however, for the intense leather smell. I've been wearing the vest for several weeks now, and the pungent odor persists. A friend of mine even commented on it -- "What's that smell?"Currently, I am hoping another customer can give me some advice on how to mitigate the odor.
