Β We purchased a 25' square segment of this netting almost 10 years ago to place over a chicken yard that is in direct sunlight all day. The netting is still in place, and is still providing protection from hawks, owls, etc. It was easy to install, although it was definitely a two-person job - the netting comes folded neatly, but it catches on every post and protrusion in the chicken yard, and can quickly get tangled if one end is unfolded faster than another. It has proven to be very durable - we've seen hawks dive bomb the netting to no avail; and it gets weighed down by snow and ice each winter, only to bounce back once things have thawed. Over the years, we've had 2 or 3 small holes develop in the netting, but these were easy to fix by simply bunching the netting together at that point and zip-tying the hole shut. As a final bonus, I used some of the excess netting to make a super-sexy, fishnet outfit for dancing. We don't live on the property and it was too far to go to every day to make sure the chickens were safe. So I bought this bird netting and put it over the chicken run so we don't have to go check on them daily. I had seen some demonstrations on Youtube of people who tried similar nets, and they all complained about how thin and flimsy the netting was once put up. We have had this up for about 2 months now and the chickens have been perfectly safe. You will need help spreading this netting out of the box, but it is easy so long as you pay attention to the corners which are marked.The native birds, starlings, etc., negotiate through this netting with no problem and there have been no dead birds to deal with.
