I bought this as a gift for my parents. Up until this time they've always kept their fruit in a serving bowl and would lay their bananas on top of the other fruit or on the counter. They're delighted to have an item specifically designed to hold their fruit and think the banana stand is the best thing since sliced bread......I have no idea how they've missed seeing banana stands all these years but apparently, it's possible. I bought them this style so they can take the banana stand down when they don't need it. I was so pleased with this item's appearance I used it as the foundation piece in a gift basket display containing the other kitchen items I included in their gift. (I should have taken a photo.) If I didn't already have a nice fruit basket with a banana stand I'd buy one of these for my own kitchen.

The basket brightens up my kitchen. I wondered how many bananas I could hand on it before it tipped. So far I have put a hand with seven fairly large bananas and it's stable. It has never tipped over yet. Wish it was a little bit bigger but since we eat a lot of fruits and veggies I've always used two plates having one really pretty one is very nice.
