DRAKENSBERG Kimberley Back Pack, rucksack, canvas, buffalo leather, safari beige

This bag is based on the WWII German mountain rucksack. That bag was used in both the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and The Adventures of Young IJ. There are a number of reproductions being made, but they and the originals used vinyl for the bottom and inside cover. This has some nice leather upgrades and I believe longer straps for larger people.

Excellent old world style back pack, comfy fit, not cheap but worth the price.

The backpack looks to be well constructed, but I sent it back. This was for two reasons: the look and feel of the materials used and the size of the laptop pouch inside.Most importantly, the leather has much less of a natural look than in the product photos: it is dark, flat, monochrome brown, almost fake looking. Also it felt dried out.The green canvas was a muddier brownish green than the product photos indicate.Also important, the laptop pouch only fits a 13" device. Why put a tiny laptop pouch in a large backpack?Finally, there is a metal "Drakensberg" tag instead of a leather one on the back of the backpack, which i found to look slightly chintzy.I was really excited to get this backpack but it wasn't up to my expectations for the price.

Bin lange auf der Suche nach einem „Allrounder“ gewesen. Dieser Rucksack sticht allerdings aus der Masse hervor. Verarbeitung lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Material ist von hoher Qualität. Kaufabwicklung sowie Versand und Verpackung waren tadellos. Wem ein Retro- bzw. Vintagerucksack gefällt, sollte hier zugreifen und bekommt dafür ein Qualitätsprodukte (selten auf dem Markt!).Hatte mir einen Lederrucksack vom Sattler anfertigen lassen, aber der war leider sehr schwer ausgefallen. Positiv hier: Gewicht, Verarbeitung, Material, starker Lederboden (selten!), Fächeraufteilung, Schnappverschlüsse an den Seitentaschen, dickes Zugband, extra Reissverschlußfach für Wertsachen etc. Für die Meckerecke: Löcher der Trageriemen waren nicht 100%ig gleich, Für den Verschluß des gr. Faches hätte ich mir auch Schnappverschlüsse gewünscht, das hintere Fach ist für ein normales Laptop 15“ zu klein. Ansonsten ist der Rucksack nicht zu klein (wie ich anfangs befürchtete). Leitzordner passen rein....

El primero que llego le faltaba la bolsa guardapolvos, y tenia un remache que esta flojo, lo devolvi sin ningun probrema y me atendieron muy bien, pedi la segunda y el tiempo de envio es tan rapido que me sorprendio, la calida de la mochila es para toda la vida, lona gruesa y cuero de primera, un estilo retro vintage tipo segunda guerra mundial. Aun que el color no es precisamente el verde oliva que se ve en las fotos, pero es un color verde marron bonito, supongo que sera las diferencias del tinte natural que usan.

Weil die Farbe nicht wie abgebildet ist (etwas düster) gibt es nur 3 Punkte. Mir war es zu umständlich, zurückzusenden. Ansonsten ist der Rucksack komfortabel, aber durch die Farbe auch nicht chic. Komme mir mit dem Sack auf dem Rücken etwas wie auf der Flucht vor, passt eben viel rein.
