The colors are terrific for a girl- it's so hard to find car toys that are girl friendly. She'll definitely grow into it too- even her older brother was having fun with it.No assembly required- it's pretty much ready to go. It was a little wobbly on carpet- but on tile it was pretty solid.Another customer complained that the ramps are plastic but I'm kind of glad they are. The cars are fun to watch going down each ramp and the colors are cool. My only complaint is that the top plastic starting ramp is easily knocked off the wooden ramp by my smaller child. The rest of the toy is very sturdy, but the top piece just sits on it and comes off if too much pressure is applied. I might just glue it down.
