I don't recall the weight capacity but I think it had to support >300# because I got it for my husband's rehab & he needed one that would support his weight. **Q: DDoes each platform snap together for easy portability?** A: It does. It snaps together easily, but it comes apart less easily which I like. **Q: Can you purchase additional risers? Each pair of risers adds only two inches?** A: Each rider adds about two inches. (And it's been used by people who weight close to 2 times my current weight, so that's saying a lot.)I use this step at least once a week and it never feels like it's going to give or buckle, although others have said differently when they've used it. But, when I weighed close to 200 lbs, it was still very sturdy and I always felt confident when using it. Easy to snap together for different height levels, and has the highest platform I have seen. I use this for training for hiking using trekking poles, and it works great. A little movement on carpet, but not a hindrance at all.
