The tools are plenty durable and are more than adequate for my needs. I find it very convenient to have a carrying case for the items in this kit, notably the hammer, tape measure, pliers, wrench, level and knife. I could have purchased all of these tools separately, but then I would have been forced to throw them all in a drawer somewhere. The case makes it much easier to find exactly what I need, and to NOT lose the tools after a few weeks. If something goes missing, then I know exactly what to look for and don't give up until I find it! This reason alone makes the utility of the carrying case priceless.
