If so, is it a USB connection? Or is there some other thing I need to -> data?** A: No wire, it is optional and you have to buy it from manufacturer. P S meter results are about 15 points higher than actual lab test result in my case **Q: I'm buying this for my dad, he's paranoid about diabetes, but I have no idea what to look for. What else will i need once I buy this monitor?** A: You wil need to buy a box (10) of Ascencia auto discs. Also a box of 100 lancets. **Q: do the lancet machine come with it** A: Yes it does! And this lancet is less painful than other brands. **Q: There is a battery icon but I cannot find where a battery is located. How do you recharge it?** A: The battery is in a little compartment that pulls out on the side of the meter. It takes a a CR2032 3V battery. To access the battery, open your meter like you were going to put in a disk. Not! I really like the Bayer Breeze 2. I had one that broke when it hit the floor , so I ordered this one. It works fine, however it was NOT in a sealed box. My original which was covered by insurance included a lancer and a control solution. This box only had the meter and a manual. No sample test disk, or lancer or sample lancets. So, be aware that this is NOT a "BRAND NEW KIT IN SEALED BOX ". While the Bayer Breeze 2 is a unit I most highly recommend, this one is not what is advertised. If it were a sealed box, I would have most happily given it the maximum five stars!(UPDATE - 01-31-2016) I just found out that the case included in the box was not even the case that should have come with this meter. So I have lowered my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. The box did not come with a lancet device; good thing I had one from my old Accu-chek. I attempted to go on the Bayer site to do the warranty, but that page no longer exists. I then went to the Bayer home page and found that the Breeze 2 is apparently no longer being made. There was a page explaining how to use this "Classic" device, so I'm assuming they consider it an obsolete device. As far as I know, the test strip cartridges are still available. The meter does have the capability to be plugged into a computer, but the cord doesn't come with it, and I wonder if that is still supported by Bayer for this device.
