Silicone oil is safe for both hands and tools - it is hypo allergenic, non sensitising and water resistant. Silicone oil is easily washed with soap and will wash out of clothes etc. It does not contain any hydrocarbons, is not carcinogenic and this specific spray does not contain any propellants or other additives. It is hypoallergenic so no worries about getting it on hands. The bottle has a pump action nozzle so no concerns about propellants either. I got this to lubricate the ‘Thundergut’ strings on my Gold Tone Micro Bass guitar and it is perfect!
