The fabric is slightly softer than the material on a Halloween costume, but in no way is it luxury silk. It is a good price for what you get considering most nightgowns like this are $25+. One thing I wish was that the color was a little bit more subdued or darker. This is very very bright purple and although it looks nice in dim light, in bright light it looks costume-y on my olive skintone.
