It was great. My father brought a kite as well, but didn’t feel like flying it once he saw how simple my reel was. I was able to control the speed of letting the kite out. Everyone was impressed by the distance the kite got, and I still had half the line to go if I wanted to. It was a good wind for the day, constant and directional - as you’d expect on the beach. I ended up leaving it behind for my father and other family members who were staying for a few more days. I look forward to trying it out again on a field. The only negative is if/when the line gets tangled. This comes with poor handling. But it’s not impossible to undo.
