Review: Easy and effective - I needed to reattach a handful of tiles around the waterline of a pool for a friend. I think there were about 7 tiles that needed attention. I took the time to chisel off residual grout from the tiles and doing a dry fit, before starting the bonding process. I used the EZPatch4 for bonding the tiles in place and for the grout around the perimeter. The EZPatch was easy to prepare and did a great job holding the tiles. Mix ratio is pretty sensitive and I had a tendency to bounce between undershooting thickness and then overshooting before getting the ideal 'mashed potato' texture. The grout was effective both above and below the waterline. The set up time was pretty fast (on the order of a few minutes) before it stiffened and solidified, but there was enough warning (gradual heating and thickening) to allow me to wrap up. I got the 3 lb container but could easily have gotten away with the 1 lb container.
Review: Easy to use, just don't mix too much at once - As long as you adhere to small batches, you can not beat this for pool coping. It sets up really fast, so that does slow down the progress a bit since you have to keep mixing up the small batches as you go, but the end result is outstanding. Only bought two 3 pound jugs first to try it out, but went back and bought a 50 pound bucket to finish the project and have some for minor repairs and such going forward. Not sure how this would fare going under water as it dissipates very quickly when submerged, but I could see mixing it to a drier state than what I am using (like instant mashed potatoes) could help it stick to the joints under water.

**Q: Can anyone tell me the difference between hydraulic cement, ez patch #1, ez patch #3 and ez patch #4. can i use hydraulic cement (without aggregate)**
A: EZ patch 4, only requires to be mixed with clean water...and it can be used without having to drain pool below repair area.

**Q: Can I adhere a loose tile without draining the pool?**
A: Yes, but you will have to make sure the grout is fairly thick & covers the entire back of the tile. If part of the tile is above the waterline, apply masking tape to the sides not to be under the water before applying the grout. . When applying to the pool surface, you must be careful that the water doesn't wash the grout away before pressing & holding the tile in place. If possible, support the tile by hand until the grout takes hold if it is completely immersed.

**Q: Will this product work as an underwater tile adhesive and underwater tile grout? Thanks.**
A: Yes it's great. I recommend mixing it with water in very small batches because it hardens in minutes. It gets warm and hardens fast. I just bought another one for this years's tile damage.

**Q: Does this grout dry white???**
A: Yes, I remember that it did dry white, not a bright white though. It matched the older white grout on my pool tile.

This stuff settled nicely. However it was very tough to work with. Getting the right amount of water to powder was the toughest part and it want to dry out quickly once you have right consistency. I put it on 4 tiles that fell out under the coping of my pool. They sit partially in water and partially above. I was concerned this would be an issue. However after settling overnight it is solid as a rock above and below the waterline. The color is nearly perfect, should look the same after some time as it looks new compared to grout on the parts around the mended area. Great part was it worked as both mortar to reattach as well as the grout. Good stuff!
