So I read about butter bells somewhere (I can't remember where) and bought this one. It looks nice in my red-accented kitchen, keeps the butter fresh (allegedly for two weeks, but the butter never lasts that long, so I can't say for sure) and soft enough to spread easily. The only thing you have to do is pack the butter firmly into the bell and change the water in the bottom every couple of days. It had fallen on the ground and we did not see it laying in the road. Found it when we backed out of our drive.
