Whether you're like me... just an outdoors enthusiast who loves to learn or a full-on "prepper" Love It! *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2017* So I'm a 53 year old female. I've taught scuba diving for 25 years, my full-time career of choice for most of my adult life. But now... I fly a desk. I hung up my fins from teaching scuba and started my own swim school 8 years ago. Fast forward. Business is brisk! Life is good... maybe too good. I've put on extra weight and long to return to my much more fit and trim former self. Mind you, I still enjoy lots of outdoor pursuits! I ski, dive, mountain bike, kayak and camp throughout the year. Apparently it's not enough to stay in shape. I came across "SOS- How to survive" and was fascinated. I then discovered "Fat Guys in the woods" and was transfixed... not only on the myriad of survival skills presented but more so on the emotional journeys of personal growth. I too had become too sedentary. I felt inspired watching Creek's shows! Icouldn't get enough. I logged on to Amazon and ordered three books: "Build the Perfect Bug Out Bag" , "Build the perfect Bug Out Vehicle", and " 365 Survival Skills" . I finished the first in one afternoon. I'm certainly no "prepper" per say... I just love the outdoors!!As an active scuba diving instructor, swim instructor and life guard, I've always loved the idea of being prepared to handle life's "what-ifs". The skills presented in all three of these books are invaluable! Let's say you never have a need to actually "bug out"... so?? Nothing is lost! But the sense of peace and the sheer fun of learning the skills you would need in the event of a disaster?!? Priceless! Maybe I'll never need to utilize the vast majority of these skills and supplies. So what! It's an amazing thought to know I have these skills and supplies at the ready. I'm looking into taking Creek's survival skills week-long class! His books are written with as much humor, and heart as razor sharp expertise. Truly fun and inspiring books. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Creek's book is well worth the money in exchange for great ideas to set up your vehicle for the unexpected! *by C***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2015* I have one criteria when buying non-fiction reference books of this type: Did I get at least one or two good ideas out of it that make the purchase price and time to read worth it? The answer on Creek's book is YES. I have a remote homestead where my wife and kids live. Depending on my job location, I may be 350 to 2,700 miles away. If I need to make it home quickly and air travel is not reasonable, I want to make sure my vehicle can make the trip and I have it properly supplied. Creek's book has caused me to seriously question my current setup (an older restored pickup truck set up for long distance travel over paved roads) and consider changing over to something more appropriate for long distance travel and 4WD/AWD capability. I also liked the sections on communications, tools and comments on accessory equipment. In short, a well maintained, reliable and more fuel efficient vehicle that can handle mild off road use and snow covered roads is now in the cards for me. Additionally, we are now planning to change over other family vehicles to meet a requirements list we've established in case my family needs to depart our home quickly. IMO, the book is well worth the money if you want to be preserve your mobility in an emergency event. Given the ratio of ideas gleaned vs. the price of the book, this author gets 5 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended! *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2017* I'm a big fan of Creek Stewart and I really enjoy his written works. He does a very nice job at breaking concepts down and explaining them in ways that anyone (even someone who's never been outdoors) could understand. This book is only one of a few in the series, and I believe more volumes are in the works as well! I highly recommend these books for anyone that is getting into camping, hiking, wilderness survival, and prepping.
