ATHYRIUM NIPONICUM REGAL RED~ A spreading mound of ruffled fronds with dark violet interiors & bright silver edges. Plant in light shade for best affect otherwise partial sun to full shade. Size: 12-24 inches. Zones 4 to 9; FERN: A fern is any one of a group of about 12,000 species of plants. Unlike mosses they have xylem and phloem (making them vascular plants). They have stems, leaves, and roots like other vascular plants. Ferns do not have either seeds or flowers (they reproduce via spores). Hardy ferns grow best in moist, shady locations with soil high in organic matter. Their varied forms, sizes, and textures add interest to the garden. Highly variegated, green fronds are shaded with silver and highlighted with burgundy red. Colors become more intense with some morning of afternoon sun.

My fern arrived in good health, survived being potted, and is growing like crazy now. I wish it would've been a little more clear that I would be receiving a seedling (it was a little confusing), but I'm happy nonetheless.

Very small and fry when they arrived. Put them in a window box with adequate shade/light exposure and watering. OF the two  plants, I ordered, 1 died and the other is hanging on. Hence the reason for two stars.
