It wasn’t one of Kindle Alexander’s best. I couldn’t figure out why until I was seventy to eighty percent into the novel when I realized the reason for the hollow feeling: the story wasn’t going to wrap up but continue on in the next book. I don’t mind continuation but I rarely get that from this author. So, I was a bit surprised.However, I did enjoy the dynamics with Keyes and Alec. I felt particularly saddened by both their predicament. Keyes: fragile in so many ways but hides it behind a tough exterior due to the way he was raised. He didn’t want anyone in the biker club to think less of him because he was gay. But that didn’t stop his father for insulting him every chance he got. Keyes was trapped by loyalty and obligation.Alec, desperately want to live life on his own terms but he too was trapped by his family. On one hand, he wanted to no involvement in politic but on the other hand, he wanted the approval of his father. Alec knew he was being used by his family but he yearned to have their love because they had mostly shunned him all his life for being gay. Alec too was trapped by the need to please and acceptance.I adored Alec, he was a straight shooter when it came to Keyes. He didn’t hold anything back. He wanted Keyes and he went after him until he got him. But, with that being saying, I wished he’d stood up to his so call friend instead of letting the man run shotgun all over him. However, Keyes wasn’t too quick to act when it came to Alec mostly because he was afraid that someone in the club would find out he was messing around with an Attorney. I wanted him to throw caution to the wind and fight for Alec.I love a slow burn read when it's done right. And as I said this one didn’t quite do it for me. It wasn’t up there with her: A Nice Guys Novel. That series was done really, well. The pace was reasonable considering there’s more to come. But when I opened the book to read it, I thought it was going to be like her other books, read, read, and read until I was done. I sat this book aside for two days then came back to it. I usually finish reading one her books in two to three days but this one took seven days to finish.To me, Kindle is still one of the best MM Romance Author. I love her writing style. Although this book wasn’t highly engaging as her other books it still did the job. I can’t say that I’m waiting on pins and needle for the next book in the series but I know as soon as its available I’ll buy it. And, the reason is: I want to know what’s going to happen with or to Keyes and Alec once their families find out.I can’t give this one my usual stamp of a Kindle Alexander approval of four to five stars. Three and a half stars.If you love MM romance, I recommend this book despite my low rating. I don’t know why it’s describes as if it could read as a stand alone when so many things are left in the air! It felt incomplete and disjointed and patched together. The relationships, both the MCs and supporting characters felt like they where missing the glue that keeps the story cohesive and relevant. I felt like I didn’t get a good grasp on the MCs relationship even though the story dragged on for longer than it needed to go. I feel like nothing of consequence happened to possibly build the next books in the series. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Opposites truly do attract one another in this steamy yet touching romance! *by M***D on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018* Opposites attract. Two words that definitely describe the intense love affair between Keyes Dixon and Alec Pierce. Wow these two have a chemistry that was apparent right from the start and I was consumed immediately. Kindle Alexander did not hold back with this first book in the Tattoos and Ties series. They once again give us the very best in the M/M genre as they put together a combustible kind of romance that is full of every kind of emotion. I honestly could not put it down!With Alec and Keyes we get two men who couldn't be more different if they tried. But that doesn't keep their feelings locked down even when they know that their worlds might just be far too different to keep their lust and deep like for one another afloat. The attorney and the biker. On paper it looks almost laughable. But damn, Alexander makes it work almost effortlessly.The requisite sex scenes are as always, some of the best written in this genre and with each new tryst, Alec and Keyes couldn't help but fall for one another. But this secret romance, one that has each of them revealing deep-held thoughts to each other is enough to keep their souls in knots. I love these guys and I just want them happy. And they are, for now as they say. I can only keep my fingers crossed that Alec's uptight and rich family together with Keyes's MC brothers will accept these two as a couple and just simply let them love one another.Getting lost in the words of Kindle Alexander is always a joy and I can't wait to read the next installment early next year.
