It's quite grippy on top unless wet, when it becomes a bit slippy. It depresses slightly when you stand on it which adds to the grip. The grip between the mat and the ground is less good as the matt is not very heavy, on a hard surface such a wood flooring it can slide around if you're moving around a lot on it, on carpet it's much better but still moves a bit. I do approx 30 min HIIT workouts on it, on a carpet floor, I usually have to pull the matt back into place a few times per workout. I use it barefoot or with socks as I find trainers are almost too grippy and tend to make the mat move too much. **Q: What size is the 200 one as only M and L are showing** A: I bought the medium which measures approximately 70cm x 130cm **Q: Looking for a mat to stand my treadmill on will this mat be ok on carpet. It also helps to reduce the noise. The material is soft, probably better designed for body exercises. One has to be careful as a cycling shoe can rip it.The mats that are designed for turbo trainers are 3x the cost, so you'd be better off with thin piece of birch plywood before buying one of those, or even a similar sized piece of felt-backed carpet.
