**Q: How do you set the time on it?**
A: by turning the crown, of course. as always

**Q: is it self winding - no bat**
A: I just looked it over- I believe it is self winding, which is amazing because I only ever wear it once a week, seldom more and it never loses time.

**Q: What battery does it require?  Is it a standard or non-standard battery?**
A: This is a gift purchased for a friend. I don't know about the battery.

**Q: does it light up? if so how?**
A: No.  Very faint worthless luminesence. I bought it because I liked the unuasual dial. The band is crap. I later bought a similar styled watch for $70 which I love.
