He wears it every time he's out working in the garden. He used to wear a baseball cap, but that didn't protect his face, back of neck, or ears. This hat does.His one complaint is that it holds heat. Said the mesh side vents don't seem to vent all that well and haven't done much to help keep him cool. His head, face and neck sweat more than when he wore the baseball cap. I loved the idea of the long flap protecting the back of my neck so I don’t have to use sunscreen. Recently went out on a boat and used it that day. Coming back in I forgot to secure it and it flew off the boat. We had gone a ways before we realized it, so doubled back around and were able to easily find it because it floats! How awesome is that? But skin cancer runs in the family and this looks like it offers excellent coverage. When I figured out how to to adjust the size and put it on, I was amazed. It felt good, very light and more comfortable than a baseball hat. It did not irritate the places on top of my head which had been frozen to get rid of precancerous cells a few days before. And it makes me feel glamorous.What a joke, but it does really make me feel better than my other sun hats.
