Ilford paper far exceeds Kodak or any of the "Bright" papers for making prints at home. I am able to produce something close to studio quality results. Even then, Ilford was the premier paper for detailed and stunning images. Kodak didn't come close. Ilford was more expensive. But in a photo comparison, Ilford won out time after time. For me, the difference in quality far outweighed the difference in cost. Forward to 2014 and the digital camera age. I have experimented with HP and Big Yellow. But again, the very first time an Ilford print rolled off my printer, I knew the more things changed, the more they remain the same. Again, images of stunning detail and color, not possible with HP or Kodak are common with Ilford. I have a consumer all in one inkjet printer, not some hot stuff professional model.
