No improvement to speak of for fingerprint scanning or photo processing speed, however overall it's still a solid handset with a design which I still hate having to hide in a case to protect...Ok, I bought this knowing all about the device.I'm a big fan of the design, I'm not into notches or curved screens, and the Nokia 9 delivers in this area without doubt. A stunning display with nothing to moan about except curved corners...could be worse!The camera does take excellent photos, even the auto mode gives stunning and highly detailed results. Lightroom can bring things out from raw files that you might it need to worry about, but this option is a nice extra. If Nokia bring out a night mode it will be welcome, as auto mode isn't the best here - however, monochrome shots at night are surprisingly good.Battery life is good but nothing amazing. If you use the camera heavily, it will drain as you watch though πŸ€”And the fingerprint scanner... probably the most talked about issue with this device. For me, it's pretty good. It has its moments, but if you can learn pressure and the position needed, it works better than I expected, for both unlocking and within apps that allow for fingerprint security. I did have all current updates installed before setting up the scanner, so all Nokia 'fixes' were installed.Overall, for the current price of Β£449, it's almost a steal. A superb set of specs for a price that finally tempted me away from my two year old Nokia 8. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic mid range phone *by C***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 9, 2019* Too many reviews of mid range phones focus on what you don't get - and is written by tech writers who get to play with phones, but don't necessarily use them as daily drivers. A lot of us don't play advance 3d games. We only want good quality snapshots of our family when we are out, and we don't expect to be able to take a shower with our phones. I really like this phone. It is almost a third of the price compared to the latest and greatest by the big names - this is what the phone gives me:A flagship feel: The screen quality, responsiveness and glass back all makes it feel even more like a flagship than my previous pixel phones did.Vanilla Android: The experience is fast and responsive due to no bloarware or skin on top of the Android one system.Security: Monthly security updates for 3 years. OS updates for two. (Better than I ever received on my Huawei Flagship.)Photos: It takes a very good photo in good light. The background blur is very natural due to the 5 cameras. Low light photos are not too bad either. It does not have night sight. I did not use it when I had access to it as it changes the scene from night to almost day. And you have to keep still, so not ideal for taking photos of people.Battery: not better or worse than similar phones. (To be honest, because it is Android one, I think it last a bit better than my previous phone.All in all, amazing value for money. Nokia phones are (apparently) built by foxcon who were involved with apple as well. The phone feels well built and should last. I will probably not buy a flagship again. (Especially now that Google are also limiting the new OS features to the latest phones as well. More phones are offered on three year contracts in order to make them affordable but you only have a bit more than a year to enjoy the latest OS features.) ### ⭐ Potentially great camera... *by K***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 24, 2019* Let down by the worst implementation of an in-screen fingerprint sensor imaginable. I've used the OnePlus 6T, the Huawei P30 and the Samsung Galaxy S10, all of which aren't perfect but produce a success rate around 90-95%. The Nokia 9 is dreadful. Even after the first update it still refuses to unlock and just keeps prompting to press harder before giving up with a "too many attempts" message. Photos also take far too long to process. It is however capable of producing some fantastic shots, especially in monochrome, but it's far too inconsistent.
